J Harlan Group is currently conducting a search for a Market Data Business Analyst - Commodities & Energy based in either Philadelphia or Houston.
Reporting to the Head of Sourcing & Vendor Management, Americas, and Head of Market Data, we are seeking an experienced business analyst to join the Sourcing & Vendor Management team to support Market Data needs for the firm's Commodity Markets and Finance line of business.
You will be part of the firm's global Market Data team working closely with the firm's Commodity Markets and Finance line of businesses in Houston or Philadelphia providing support, analysis, advice, and guidance as it relates to Market data. You will participate and lead strategic and business driven initiatives to help drive efficiencies and cost management.
Responsibilities :
- Provide advice and analysis on market data products
- Understand, interpret, and define business requirements
- Effectively interact with stakeholders, operations, and technology teams
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with our market data vendor and Exchanges
- Understand what can and can't be done with data and products
- Analyze more cost-effective ways to use data across the enterprise
- Match best product to user needs
- Contract management; validate commercial framework, terms & conditions
- Evaluate vendor and product offerings
- Ensure compliance with contracts terms.
- Define reporting requirements for business units
- Deliver and implement solutions (in conjunction with business and technology)

To be successful in this role you will have strong product knowledge across commodities & energy market data, with the ability to interpret and define critical business requirements. Good analytical and reporting skills together with excellent interpersonal skills to form strong internal relationships.
