Excavator Operator For Pipe Crew

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled excavator operator on a pipe crew to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for various tasks related to construction and heavy equipment operation. This role requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. As a Crew Member, you will contribute to the successful execution of projects while ensuring safety and efficiency on-site.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, front loaders, and bulldozers safely and efficiently.
• Perform various tasks as required for various construction projects.
• Leading crew if Foreman is not onsite.
• Read and interpret blueprints to ensure accurate project execution.
• Conduct ground operations when necessary to support construction activities.
• Dig trenches and prepare sites in a safely matter for construction work.
• Assist in the loading and unloading of materials using loader or excavator operation techniques.
• Maintain equipment by performing routine checks and reporting any issues to foreman.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of tasks while adhering to safety protocols.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in heavy equipment operations for a pipe crew.
• Familiarity with various heavy equipment operations and handling.
• Knowledge of various underground utilities and installation techniques such as using trench boxes and benching down for ground personnel.
• Various dewatering methods.
• Working in limited space with heavy equipment.
• Knowledge of reading grade stakes.
• Installation techniques of storm pipe, gravity sewer, water main, force main, and lift stations.
• Ability to read blueprints effectively.
• Minimum 3 years experience running excavator for pipe crew.
• Strong physical stamina and ability to perform manual labor tasks, including digging and lifting.
• Excellent teamwork skills with a commitment to safety on the job site.
• Willingness to learn new skills and take on additional responsibilities as needed.
• Dependable transportation to and from job site. We currently work in various counties throughout northeast Florida.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $26.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 48 per week

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Day shift
• Monday to Friday
• Nights as needed
• Weekends as needed

• Excavator: 3 years (Required)
