What are the responsibilities and job description for the Bookkeeper position at J & J Staffing Resources?
Our Client in Camden, New Jersey is seeking a Bookkeeper to join their team! This is a Full-Time, Temp to Hire position, Monday through Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm. This role offers $28-$31 per hour based on experience.
The ideal candidate will have 5 year's of Bookkeeping experience in a construction, plumbing, or similar industry setting. They will also be proficient with QuickBooks, and have an advanced proficiency with Excel (including skills with Pivot Tables and V-Lookup).
Your responsibilities would include, but are not limited to:
- Record day-to-day financial transactions
- Maintain the general ledger, including journal entries and account reconciliations
- Manage Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable – including monitoring outstanding balances
- Prepare monthly financial reports
- Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
- Ensure compliance with company policies, financial regulations, and S-Corp Laws
- Work with the billing department to prepare and issue invoices
- Ensure accuracy & timeliness in billing operations
- Preform bank reconciliations, investigating discrepancies as needed
- Process deposits, manage petty cash and handle cash flow tracking
- Manage and record expenses
- Reconcile credit card statements
- Provide support for ad-hoc financial analysis and projects
Requirements:
- Must have 5 years’ of experience in Bookkeeping
- Associate’s degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent work experience
- Must be proficient with QuickBooks
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Excel – Pivot tables, V-Lookup
- Previous experience with plumbing, construction or other service industries is a plus
- Previous experience with Service Titan software is a huge plus!
- General knowledge of General Accepted Accounting Principals (GAAP)
- Excellent time-management and organizational abilities
- Ability to work independently and part of a team
