Our client, Princeton University is seeking a Procurement Contracts Specialist (Temporary) to support its Procurement Services team in managing contracts and procurement agreements. This role will focus on contract administration, data management, and client support while ensuring compliance with institutional policies. The specialist will play a key role in maintaining contract records, assisting with negotiations, and providing essential support to the contracts manager and procurement team.
**Please note, this is not a hybrid or remote role. Candidates must be able to work fully onsite in Princeton, NJ for consideration. **
This is a temporary position lasting 4-6 months.
Key Responsibilities:
- Draft, review, and update contracts, amendments, and other procurement-related agreements.
- Manage contract expiration timelines and collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure renewals or necessary updates.
- Assist in distributing and tracking contract redlines, supporting negotiations as needed.
- Maintain accurate contract records, including metadata updates, to provide a complete lifecycle history.
- Maintain vendor and contract profiles within the contract lifecycle management (CLM) system (Conga).
- Oversee electronic signature workflows using DocuSign for contract execution.
- Ensure accurate contract documentation by uploading agreements and tracking key details in the CLM system.
- Generate and analyze reports to provide insights into contract statuses, expirations, and opportunities.
- Serve as a point of contact for internal departments needing contract templates and procurement guidance.
- Investigate contract details to determine availability and applicability for various procurement needs.
- Partner with contracts managers to address inquiries and assist in discussions about contracting needs.
- Provide ongoing administrative and analytical support to enhance procurement processes.
Required:
- Strong ability to read, interpret, and analyze contract language.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience managing and analyzing contract data.
- Ability to work independently on procurement agreements, including master contracts, extensions, and amendments.
- High attention to detail, particularly in contract documentation and data accuracy.
Preferred:
- Background in procurement, contract management, or legal administration.
- Experience with contract lifecycle management software (Conga preferred).
- Familiarity with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and flow-down clauses.
