Job Summary
The Lead Product Owner is responsible for managing the day-to-day development operations of various software products. The ideal candidate is an enabler of digital transformation, driving new features, maintaining, and prioritizing the backlog of features to the software, gathering user/business requirements and business modeling, and possessing strong analytical skills. Additionally, this role will require in-depth knowledge of sales, software development practices, and business processes.
To ensure success as a Lead Product Owner, you should possess extensive knowledge of systems and the ability to lead teams within a fast-paced environment.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee a team in delivering strategic objects and metrics.
- Conduct regular meetings with users to maintain backlog of features and changes to the software.
- Prioritize backlog of features for planning.
- Create user stories and acceptance criteria for software changes.
- Conduct interviews, surveys, and observations for gathering requirements.
- Perform use-case analyses.
- Act as subject matter expert for multiple information technology systems.
- Create and/or upload training manuals, policies, and procedures.
- Manage projects and implementations, including roll out plan, developing and owning training.
- Regularly assessing user experience to identify ongoing improvements and training needs.
- Conducting end user training in limited capacity, normally in a “train the trainer” role.
- Partnership with other stakeholders to define what data resides in each system and how the systems connect.
- Ensure optimal performance of systems and products.
- Central point of contact for all change requests and system alterations.
- Generate detailed process maps for sales, marketing, and business workflows.
- Work with IT to manage project implementation and back-end integration.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education
B.S. in Computer Science or similar field.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum 5 years’ prior experience as a business systems analyst; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent decision making and problem-solving skills, and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Solid team player with excellent interpersonal skills who possesses the ability to communicate effectively with peers, managers, and across departments.
- Extensive experience in the administration and maintenance of systems.
- Experience in performing system upgrades and ensuring successful integration.
- Proficiency in creating system profiles, allocating roles, and managing access.
- Proficient in API management.
- Proven ability to develop and lead training sessions.
- Strong organizational, project, leadership, and time management skills.
- Compliance technical writing experience
- Knowledge of the NGCB rules and regulations.
Supervisory Responsibility
This position has potential supervisory responsibilities managing other Product Owners and Business Analysts.
Work Environment
This is a in office opportunity. This job generally operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. The noise level in the work environment is low.
