Job Summary
The Software Quality Assurance/Control Engineer is responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of software releases through rigorous testing and quality assurance processes. This role will work closely with development teams to identify, track, and resolve defects, ensuring that software products meet the highest standards. Key responsibilities include test planning, execution, and documentation, as well as collaboration with stakeholders to maintain project timelines and quality metrics.
Job Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases for manual and automated testing.
- Conduct thorough testing of software products to identify, document, and troubleshoot defects.
- Collaborate with development teams to resolve technical issues and ensure that software releases meet quality standards and project timelines.
- Create and maintain detailed test documentation, including test plans, test cases, defect reports, and progress updates.
- Clearly communicate test results and identify potential risks to stakeholders.
- Assist in other responsibilities as assigned.
Education
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combined education and work experience in a similar field such as Computer Science or Electrical Engineering.
- Technical certifications in Software Engineering, Testing, Quality Assurance, or related subject matter
Qualifications and Experience
- Must be able to pass a drug screen prior to hire.
- Previous experience as a QA/QC Tester.
- Experience with Linux and Windows Operating Systems.
- Knowledge of database concepts and SQL.
- Experience with test management and defect tracking tools (e.g., Jira).
- (Optional) Experience with communication protocols and automated testing.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills, with a willingness to learn and grow.
Preferred (Not Required) Qualifications:
- Gaming industry experience
Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment
This job generally operates in a professional office environment with direct traffic. This role routinely uses standard office equipment as well as gaming machines and other miscellaneous tools needed for the execution of the job. The noise level in the work environment is standard for a casino, with background noise from machines or other people in the surrounding area.
