What are the responsibilities and job description for the Two Way Radio Technician position at J & K Communications, Inc.?
J & K Communications is seeking a skilled Two-Way Radio Systems Technician with a strong background in servicing land mobile radio equipment (Kenwood, Motorola, or similar). If you have at least 2 years of experience with handheld radios, mobile radios, and base/repeater stations, we want to hear from you!
While experience in tower climbing is preferred, we are willing to provide training to candidates with a solid electronics knowledge and a willingness to climb.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, service, and maintain antenna systems and radio equipment following instructions and diagrams (both verbal and written).
- Perform cable analysis and utilize test equipment and software.
- Test radio systems for proper service and signal strength.
- Ensure that all projects are completed on time and meet quality standards.
- Demonstrate strong documentation and team-building skills.
- Follow safety procedures, including rigging and climbing (if applicable).
- Maintain a safety-first mindset and adhere to all relevant guidelines.
Job Requirements:
- At least 2 years of experience with two-way radio equipment.
- Electronics knowledge and willingness to learn tower climbing.
- Strong customer service skills and a self-motivated attitude.
- Ability to lift 75 lbs and work in various environments.
- A valid driver’s license and willingness to travel.
- Must be safety-conscious and detail-oriented.
- Availability for occasional weekend or overnight work (Monday-Friday schedule).
