Position Overview:
J&K General Contractors is seeking a highly skilled In-House Attorney to provide legal guidance on all real estate transactions, contracts, land acquisitions, and regulatory compliance matters. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in real estate law, contract negotiations, and risk management. This role is critical in ensuring that all company real estate dealings align with legal standards and business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Real Estate Transactions & Contracts:
- Draft, review, and negotiate real estate purchase agreements, leases, construction contracts, and financing documents.
- Ensure all real estate transactions comply with federal, state, and local laws.
- Advise on land acquisition, zoning, easements, title issues, and property development matters.
Regulatory Compliance & Risk Management:
- Ensure company operations adhere to real estate laws, building codes, and land use regulations.
- Provide legal guidance on environmental regulations, permitting, and construction compliance.
- Manage and mitigate legal risks associated with property acquisitions, development, and construction projects.
Dispute Resolution & Litigation Support:
- Handle real estate-related disputes, including contract disagreements, property rights, and tenant matters.
- Work with external counsel when necessary to represent the company in real estate litigation or arbitration.
- Negotiate settlements and dispute resolutions to minimize legal exposure.
Corporate & Business Advisory:
- Advise senior management on real estate investment strategies and legal implications.
- Assist in structuring real estate deals to align with business growth objectives.
- Support corporate governance and compliance with business licensing requirements.
Qualifications:
- Education: Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
- License: Active bar membership in the state of operation.
- Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in real estate law, preferably in construction, land development, or commercial real estate.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of real estate transactions, zoning laws, land-use regulations, and contract negotiation.
- Skills:
- Excellent negotiation and drafting skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Effective communication and leadership skills.
Additional Requirements:
- Experience in construction and development law is a plus.
