Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Permitting Coordinator to oversee the permitting process for our construction projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring all necessary permits and approvals are obtained in a timely manner to keep projects on schedule and compliant with local, state, and federal regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare, submit, and track permit applications for residential and commercial construction projects.
- Research and ensure compliance with zoning laws, building codes, and other regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate with local municipalities, government agencies, and utility companies to facilitate the permit approval process.
- Maintain up-to-date records of all permits, approvals, and inspections.
- Communicate with project managers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders regarding permit status and requirements.
- Address and resolve any issues or discrepancies that may arise during the permitting process.
- Monitor changes in permitting regulations and update internal processes accordingly.
- Assist with permit renewals and ensure all necessary documentation is maintained and filed properly.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred).
- Prior experience in permitting, construction administration, or a related field.
- Knowledge of building codes, zoning regulations, and permitting processes.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with government agencies and internal teams.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and permitting software.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to permit offices as needed.
