Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Surveyor to join our team. The Surveyor will play a crucial role in land assessment, providing precise measurements and data to support construction projects. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise, field experience, and a commitment to accuracy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct land surveys and construction site measurements using specialized surveying equipment.
- Prepare and maintain sketches, maps, and reports of survey findings.
- Verify accuracy of survey data, including measurements and calculations conducted at survey sites.
- Analyze survey objectives and specifications to prepare survey proposals or oversee project execution.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and construction teams to provide accurate land data for site development.
- Establish official land and water boundaries for deeds, leases, and other legal documents.
- Research historical maps, property surveys, and land records.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations regarding land surveying and construction.
- Provide topographic, boundary, and construction layout surveys.
- Utilize AutoCAD, GIS, and other surveying software to process survey data and generate reports.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Required: Licensed Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) in North Carolina or ability to obtain within a specified time frame.
- Bachelor's degree in Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
- Minimum 3 years of experience in land surveying or construction-related surveying.
- Proficiency in survey instruments such as GPS, total stations, and levels.
- Strong knowledge of boundary laws, topographic mapping, and geodetic surveying.
- Experience using AutoCAD, GIS, and other surveying software.
- Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to interpret construction blueprints.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Physical ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and navigate uneven terrain.
