Would you like to help customers see their dream rooms become a reality? We're currently hiring for immediate openings in the Charleston area at our Mt. Pleasant store location in the Belle Hall Shopping Center.
J&K Home Furnishings is a luxury furniture store that has been in business of over 27 years with 6 stores across the Grand Strand and 1 in Charleston. J&K specializes in custom ordered furniture featuring the best brands like Bassett, Universal, Sherrill Furniture Brands, Thibaut, Smith Brothers, Tommy Bahama and Lexington Home Brands.

Each store location is staffed with experienced Design Consultants who are the face and heart of our company. They are responsible for building meaningful and long-term customer relationships. Our Design Consultants have design degrees and/or experience in interior decorating and design with comprehensive knowledge ranging from furniture construction to design trends. If selected, the qualified candidate will be provided with a thorough paid training program during our J&K Interior Design Certification process.

Job Requirements:
Successful candidates for this position must have a passion for design, discern and coordinate colors/textures and display superior communication skills.
Additional requirements for this position include:
- Associates Degree in Design or related field (or minimum of 5 years of related work experience)
- Client & Project Management experience
- Professional attire
- Proficient computer skills and the ability to learn new programs
- Marketing/Sales ability
- Flexibility to work a retail schedule that includes nights, weekends and holidays
- Reliable transportation and willingness to travel to clients’ homes
Job Responsibilities
Our Interior Design Sales Consultants will be on the sales floor providing guidance and solutions for our clients’ needs. The job will also include traveling to client homes to do in-home consults and the ability to build a Presentation Board, consisting of the colors and placement of furniture in the home, the visual samples of the actual furniture, the room plan, any needed accessories.
- Use active listening and problem-solving skills to help customers by providing solutions for their decorating projects
- Design and Marketing of Showroom Floors
- Measure rooms and create floor plan to present to clients using software programs
- Knowledge of our furniture products to sell to clients
- Quickly build and maintain relationships with our customers
- Ability to work weekends and some holidays'
