Position Summary
The Bookkeeper is responsible for managing the day-to-day financial transactions of the organization. This includes recording financial data, processing accounts payable and receivable, managing payroll, and maintaining accurate financial records to support sound decision-making and ensure regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and update the general ledger and chart of accounts
- Record day-to-day financial transactions (sales, receipts, purchases, etc.)
- Manage accounts payable and receivable
- Reconcile bank and credit card statements
- Process payroll and ensure proper tax withholdings and reporting
- Maintain organized records and financial documents
- Support tax filing processes
- Monitor financial transactions for accuracy and compliance
- Assist with implementing and maintaining internal financial controls
Qualifications & Requirements
- Proven experience as a bookkeeper or in a similar role
- Proficiency in legal accounting software, i.e. ProLaw and Clio
- Proficiency in QuickBooks Enterprise
- Knowledge of Paychex for payroll processing
- Strong understanding of bookkeeping and accounting principles
- High attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other office applications
- Associate’s degree in Accounting or Finance (Bachelor’s preferred)
- Certification (e.g., CPB or QB ProAdvisor) a plus
