We are seeking an experienced Safety & Quality Manager to oversee and maintain our existing safety and quality programs, ensuring compliance with all industry regulations and company policies.

Position Summary:

The Safety & Quality Manager is responsible for managing and maintaining the company’s established safety and quality programs to ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, AISC guidelines, industry standards, and internal policies. This role ensures that all safety and quality procedures are followed across fabrication and erection operations while keeping policies and programs updated to meet evolving industry requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

Safety Management:

  • Oversee and enforce the company’s established safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with OSHA, ANSI, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct regular job site and fabrication shop inspections to verify adherence to safety protocols and identify potential hazards.
  • Ensure employees receive proper safety training, certifications, and refresher courses as required.
  • Investigate workplace incidents, near misses, and accidents, providing root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions.
  • Maintain all safety-related documentation, records, and reports to ensure compliance with regulatory and company standards.
  • Ensure job sites are equipped with the necessary personal protective equipment (PPE) and that employees are following safety guidelines.
  • Lead safety meetings, toolbox talks, and ongoing safety initiatives to reinforce best practices.
  • Work closely with project managers and field supervisors to ensure safe working conditions and compliance with company policies.
  • Keep the company’s safety program up to date with any regulatory changes and industry best practices.

Quality Control Management:

  • Manage and oversee the company's established quality control program for structural and miscellaneous steel fabrication and erection.
  • Ensure compliance with industry codes, customer specifications, and internal quality standards.
  • Conduct routine inspections and audits of materials, fabrication processes, and erection activities to verify compliance with project requirements.
  • Identify and address any quality issues, coordinating with detailing, fabrication, and field teams to implement corrective actions.
  • Maintain all quality-related documentation, inspection reports, and non-conformance records.
  • Work with engineers, project managers, and clients to resolve quality concerns and ensure the highest standards are met.
  • Keep the company’s quality control program updated in accordance with industry changes, AISC guidance, customer requirements, and regulatory updates.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in safety and/or quality management within the structural steel industry or construction sector.
  • Strong working knowledge of OSHA regulations, ANSI standards, and AISC (American Institute of Steel Construction) quality standards.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills to train and engage employees at all levels.
  • Proficiency in safety and quality management software, reporting tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to investigate incidents, analyze data, and implement corrective actions.
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP), OSHA 30/OSHA 500 certification, or relevant safety credentials preferred.

Work Environment & Physical Demands:

  • Ability to visit job sites, walk through fabrication facilities, and climb ladders when needed.
  • Work in various environments, including office, shop, and outdoor construction sites, in different weather conditions.
  • Regular day travel required; reliable personal transportation is essential.

Pay: $70,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
