What are the responsibilities and job description for the Hands-On Woodworker Project Manager position at J & M Custom Cabinet Shop?

SUMMARY:
This is NOT a desk-only position. Looking for a Project Manager to join our team. This position will provide the opportunity to successfully manage variably sized millwork projects from inception to completion and assist with the following job functions: review all documents related to multiple millwork projects including; approved shop drawings, architectural plans and specifications, equipment cut sheets, product fact sheet for material handling and fabrication; and review drawings with field conditions, adding notes as needed for production. Some hands-on work is needed throughout project phases including small installation work. This will require you have basic hand tools i.e. tape measure, levels, drill etc.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Coordinating and monitoring projects to ensure customers’ expectations are met and that the product is delivered on time.
Communicator between in house production and the general contractor, the designers and the end user on projects to ensure success.
Perform job site visits and act as a liaison between the customer and production.
Reviews and gains an understanding of construction documents and contacts.
Coordinate multiple jobs in various stages of construction and assures job completion.
Small installations of the products we fabricate.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:
Responsible to supervise subcontractor installers.
Insuring project completion will require hands-on work at job-sites including small installation work.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Basic hand tools
Woodworking/millwork fabrication skills
Some computer skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, e-mail communication Skills
Familiarity with the Microsoft Word & Excel
Experience working in the commercial architectural millwork industry
Familiarity with AWI (Architectural Woodwork Institute) standards
Familiarity with architectural drawings and shop drawings
Ability to follow instructions and take initiative when necessary
Excellent time and project management skills
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
