JOB SUMMARY:
Material Handlers are responsible for systematically and physically moving inventory and materials throughout the facility, supporting production, and other departments as requested. It is also the responsibility of material handlers to ensure adherence to 5S, general safety and cleanliness, equipment charging and visual warehouse management.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Gather all materials needed for production (assembly and manufacturing), checking for discrepancies, inventory inaccuracies, FIFO, and visual warehouse management, reporting all problems to the supervisor.
- Move material within the facility from warehouse to production, production to finished goods, ensuring system transactions and inventory accuracy.
- Perform all standard work outlined, work instructions, and special requests made by leadership.
- Secure all equipment, scales, forklifts, etc. at the end of the shift per 5S requirements, ensuring equipment is charged as needed
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
- Fork Truck Certification & Able to operate the lift equipment. – required
- High level of attention to detail required.
- Able to work well in a team environment.
- Good written and oral communication skills.
- Prior shipping or material handling experience preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to sit or stand intermittently for up to 8 hours daily. Must be able to bend, twist, push, pull, and lift products varying in weight. Products 50lbs or less unassisted products more than 50lbs assisted.
