About Us:
JMK Creative Arts School is a licensed child care and educational institution that blends the arts and academics to provide high-quality learning experiences for K-8th grade students. As we expand our impact, we seek an experienced Grants and funding Specialist to identify, write, and manage grant applications that will support our programs and growth initiatives.
Position Overview:
The Grants & Funding Specialist will be responsible for researching and securing funding opportunities, including federal, state, and private grants. This individual will play a critical role in sustaining and expanding JMK’s programs through various funding sources and strategic partnerships.
This role requires strong writing skills, attention to detail, and experience navigating grant application processes. A 90-day probationary period will apply to ensure alignment with JMK’s funding needs and expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Research, identify, and apply for grants aligned with JMK’s mission and expansion goals.
- Develop compelling grant proposals, applications, and reports to secure funding for arts-integrated education and childcare programs.
- Manage the full grant lifecycle, including compliance, reporting, and fund allocation tracking.
- Identify and secure additional funding sources, including sponsorships, partnerships, and philanthropic grants.
- Build and maintain relationships with grant agencies, funders, and stakeholders.
- Work closely with leadership to align funding efforts with organizational priorities and strategic growth.
- Stay updated on federal, state, and private grant opportunities related to education and child care.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, English, Nonprofit Management, or a related field (preferred but not required).
- Minimum of 2-3 years of proven grant writing experience, with a successful funding track record.
- Strong knowledge of education, child care, and nonprofit funding sources.
- Excellent writing, editing, and research skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.
- Experience securing partnerships and corporate sponsorships is a plus.
90-Day Probationary Period & Performance Review:
- All hires will undergo a 90-day probationary period, during which performance will be evaluated based on the following:
- Success in securing grants and funding opportunities aligned with JMK’s needs.
- Quality and effectiveness of written proposals.
- Ability to meet deadlines and compliance requirements.
- Communication and collaboration with JMK leadership.
- Contract extensions or salary adjustments may be considered upon successful completion of the probationary period.
