GENERAL SUMMARY
This position is responsible for providing operational support to the Self-Direction Services Department including delivery of service, compliance and the daily supervision of Fiscal Intermediary Specialists and Self-Direction Coordinators.
COMPANY STANDARDS
- Maintain regular attendance and punctuality in order to coordinate and supervise quality services to individuals served and to act as a positive role model. This position performs all hours onsite and at all assigned physical locations of service, unless exceptions are determined, based on business needs and approved.
- Follows and ensures all employees and individuals follow all safety rules and regulations, including wearing/using required personal protective equipment while working. Immediately addresses and reports any safety concerns or unsafe working conditions to the Program Director or Senior Vice President of Services.
- Ensure and conduct all aspects of position in compliance with the JM Murray mission statement, policies and procedures, professional standards, and applicable governmental laws, rules and regulations.
- Demonstrates both personal accountability and the development of confidence and accountability of employees, to ensure that day to day issues and concerns are responded to and resolved in a timely manner.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Provides guidance and assistance to assigned staff to ensure that a high quality of service is provided to individuals/families, brokers, and other stake holders.
- Assists with the daily operations of the department, including, approving community classes/other reimbursements, assisting individuals/families and other Circle of Support members, assisting Self-Direction Coordinators and liaising with other JM Murray departments.
- Maintains a high level of communication with families and individuals served, and with Support Brokers and FI Team. Assists the Director with coordinating workflow with proper back up training will an ongoing basis among the department staff, using a team orientated approach to ensure timely and effective services.
- Provides oversight of the Independent Support Brokers including onboarding and ongoing assistance technical support with the JM Murray Electronic Record, reviewing/approving Broker invoices, and ensuring timely completion and quality of staff action plans.
- Assists the Director with oversight of intake activities for self-direction services. Ensures that all required documentation is received, budgets are approved, and that services commence as soon as individuals are ready and approved to receive them.
- Assists the Director with ongoing compliance activities including program audits and developing mechanisms to track ongoing program compliance. Assists the Director with follow up and timely response on all compliance audit findings to the VP of Services and the JM Murray Compliance Department.
- Assists Director with reviewing and developing of policies and procedures that are compliant with ISO Standards and OPWDD Guidance.
- Provides support to Self-Direction Coordinators with the oversight of Self-Hired Staff and liaising with Human Resources.
- Assists the Director with program development and service expansion
- Assists/is backup to Director for billing activities
- Reviews timecards for assigned employees according to the JMM payroll schedule. Approves timecards according to JM Murray policies and procedures.
- Provides ongoing feedback, coaching and supervision to employees with regard to job performance and service delivery. Completes performance reviews for assigned employees in a timely manner, according to established review schedules.
- Assists the Director with hiring of staff necessary to provide services, ensuring that the most qualified applicants are selected for open positions. Participates in the decision making with regard to employees who require disciplinary actions and/or terminations.
- Provides coverage of job duties of FI team members as required.
- Performs clerical duties necessary to maintain accurate records and service operations including but not limited to filing, copying, computer entry, organizing and ordering supplies, etc.
- Attends all required and requested training and meetings. Ensures assigned staff are scheduled for required training, and maintain all required training and certifications
- Ensures and completes appropriate and timely documentation of services which includes the use of the JM Murray Electronic Medical Record, and the use of equipment such as a computer, laptop, and/or a tablet.
- Conducts self in a manner as to always contribute to maximum individual growth and in accordance with all regulations, the Code of Ethics and Company policy and procedures. Represents JM Murray and the JM Murray mission in a positive manner, treating people with respect and dignity.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in human services or related field preferred;
Must have 2-3 years of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities and 2-3 years of supervisory experience.
Associates Degree and significant experience in lieu of degree may be considered.
KNOWLEDGE and SKILLS
Must have excellent organizational and coordination skills to assist with the management of service delivery among large numbers of consumers and employees and in multiple regions throughout New York State
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Efficient use of technology and software, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and Databases
Highly organized, attention to detail and ability to prioritize
Flexibility to adjust to changes in schedules and assigned tasks – flexibility to work outside regular
business hours when necessary to attend Life Plan Meetings
