Hourly Rate: Base $15.63 per hour; Additional credit for related years of service and related education.
Hours: Full-time, up to 8 Hours per Day
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Contract: 10 Months, 192 Days
Benefits: Eligible the first of the month following date of hire.
Evaluation: 90-days and Annual
Reports to: Library Facilitator or Principal

To support the Library Facilitator and maintain the Media Center’s collection of materials with minimum direct supervision, while exercising judgment within the scope of authority.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Maintain the MARC record database(s) of instructional materials in the Library/Media Center

• Develop catalogs of instructional materials available for the use by district and school-based personnel

• Maintain patron and media circulation records on the library system including all reports necessary to maintain control of inventory and fee assessment.

• Monitor the timely return of instructional materials and serve as liaison with teachers and parents for any problems with scheduling and return of instructional materials.

• Maintain accurate inventory of instructional materials and prepare appropriate paperwork for removal/addition of items, when needed.

• Assist both district and school-based personnel with locating and scheduling needed instructional materials

• Maintain accurate records of preview materials being considered for purchase and work closely with purchasing agent to follow procurement regulations.

• Maintain central control for ordering of all magazine subscriptions for all school sites

• Use the computer to collect, tabulate, and report data necessary to the operation of the department, school, and the district

• Maintain departmental schedule and calendar for possible distribution

• Assist in training volunteer and student aides

• Perform other duties as assigned by the Library Facilitator.
