What are the responsibilities and job description for the Payroll/HR Specialist position at J.P. Sicard,Inc.?
Responsibilities:
- Process weekly payroll internally in accounting software for employees accurately and timely
- Ensure compliance with federal and state payroll regulations including Davis Bacon Act compliance as well as DOT compliance (Driver DMV checks / oversight of Drug Testing program)
- Prepare quarterly payroll tax returns including year end W2s.
- Responsible for on boarding and maintaining employee records in payroll system
-Manage all employee benefits/policies including yearly open enrollment for Health Insurance, Life/Disability Benefits, 401-K Plan/PTO. As well as to calculate and process weekly payroll deductions/accruals for these benefits.
- Coordinate annual employee meeting
- Communications with field supervisors to resolve timecard issues
- Provide support during audits by preparing necessary documentation and reports
Skills:
- Strong understanding of payroll processes and regulations
- Proficient in using payroll software in Foundations preferred.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with integrity
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
