Essential Job Responsibilities and Duties:
- Gets and counts cash bank and sets up the register at the start of the shift
- Greets customers and assists them in their selection of merchandise to purchase
- Scans and/or inputs stock numbers of items to be purchased by the customers into the cash register and totals the amount due
- Accepts cash payments, processes credit card payments, issues receipts and give change
- Gives cash refunds or issues credit memos to customers for returned items
- Stocks, displays and dusts merchandise; keeps clothing neatly folded and sized
- Assist in ticketing, folding, hanging of garments and re-merchandising displays as needed
- Maintains inventory of merchandise and supplies for sale in the store.
- Makes requisition of same as need arises
- Maintains an inventory of bus tickets and records amounts received for the sale of the tickets and prepares report of transactions
- Records all amounts received at the end of the shift and prepares the shift end transaction report
- Reconciles totals on the cash register tape against cash on hand at the end of the shift
- Turns over the bank and monies to designated location at the end of the shift
- Maintains the cleanliness of the store at all times
Skills, Education and Other Requirements:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent Work Experience
- Must be fluent in English
- Ability to read
- Must possess basic computer skills and ability to use 10-key
- Previous cash handling experience is preferred
- Identification that establishes identity
- Identification that establishes the right to work in the United States
