What are the responsibilities and job description for the Concrete Laborer position at J & S Concrete Services LLC?
Concrete Laborers perform tasks involving physical labor at job sites assisting our concrete team with the demolition of current concrete structures, prepping pour sites, and pouring concrete. May operate a variety of hand and power tools.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Follow all safety protocols when using tools and equipment
- Demo worksites and prepare them for footings and forms
- Loading and unloading trucks and hauling and hoisting materials and tools to job site
- Positioning forms for pouring concrete and dismantling forms after use, using saws, hammers, nails, bolts or form hardware.
- Install rebar, expansion joints or carbon fiber.
- Directing mixing truck drivers as to where to be positioned
- Pouring concrete.
- Spreading and smoothing concrete efficiently and accurately.
- Using stains or colors to add the finishing touch.
- Applying waterproofing and sealant to protect the concrete work.
- Monitoring the material to ensure it hardens to a durable finish.
- Maintaining a clean job site: picking up all tools and equipment and secure job site each day in order to eliminate potential hazards
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
- Must possess or be able to obtain a valid and appropriate state driver’s license prior to employment.
- Willingness and ability to perform manual work following verbal and written instructions.
- Some knowledge of proper use of equipment, materials, and supplies used in heavy/highway construction work
- Ability to work independently and complete daily activities according to work schedule
- Ability to lift heavy objects, walk, and stand for long periods of time and perform strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions
- Ability to communicate orally and in writing
- Ability to use equipment and tools properly and safely
- Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions
- Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency
- Physical fitness and stamina
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $35.00 per hour
