Job Overview
We are looking for a Help Desk Technician to join our team in the Hampton Roads area. This is not a remote position—you will be working on-site at our Christian school and church, supporting faculty, staff, and church members with their IT needs.
The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys problem-solving, providing excellent customer service, and ensuring that technology runs smoothly for users. This position does not require advanced technical certifications but does require a willingness to learn, troubleshoot common IT issues, and work collaboratively in a faith-based environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide friendly and professional technical support for staff, faculty, and church members.
- Troubleshoot and resolve basic IT issues, including problems with computers, printers, internet connectivity, and software applications.
- Assist users with password resets, account access, and software installations.
- Set up and configure new computers, laptops, and mobile devices.
- Maintain and update IT support tickets, documenting issues and resolutions.
- Work closely with senior IT staff to escalate complex issues as needed.
- Ensure all IT equipment is in good working condition and assist with basic maintenance.
Qualifications
- Basic understanding of Windows operating systems (Mac OS experience is a plus).
- Familiarity with computer hardware and common troubleshooting techniques.
- Good communication and customer service skills—able to explain technical issues in simple terms.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new technology and software.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Prior help desk or IT support experience is a plus but not required.
