Senior Counsel – Top Real Estate Development Company

The Senior Counsel for this nationwide real estate developer prepares and examines contracts pertaining to real estate transactions, including sales and acquisitions, development, design and construction, leasing, financing and joint ventures, management and operations of real estate assets, corporate governance and other corporate businesses.

This key role will be the primary attorney responsible for managing the preparation and execution of all documents and must possess the ability to effectively and clearly present complex legal information to tenants, top management, employees, prospective investors, government officials and the public. The ideal candidate will have superior analytical abilities, to establish facts and draw valid conclusions, including decisive thinking in crisis situations.

This Senior Counsel will notify the SVP, Chief Legal Officer & Secretary, of proposed documents that may create substantial obligations and liabilities as well as oversee compliance with applicable laws and contractual commitments; Supervises the work of outside counsel for the company and its subsidiaries; Performs selected in-house legal work; Acts as a sounding board and resources to Human Resources and other business units on corporate legal matters.

Our client is a brand name Real Estate Management Company with an international footprint. They are seeking a Senior Counsel with a minimum of 7-to-10 years of experience in a progressive real estate management company, or as a senior Associate in a highly regarded real estate practice of a Big Law firm. JD required. Admission to practice law in Colorado or California required. Compensation includes a generous salary ($265K-to-$280K), plus a 30% bonus and a longer-term bonus of 20% based upon metrics, tenure and performance. All is accompanied by a robust benefits package.
