Our client is a brand name Real Estate Management Company with an international footprint. They are seeking a Senior Counsel with a minimum of 7-to-10 years of experience in a progressive real estate management company, or as a senior Associate in a highly regarded real estate practice of a Big Law firm. The Senior Counsel prepares and examines contracts pertaining to real estate transactions, including sales and acquisitions, development, design and construction, leasing, financing and joint ventures, management and operations of real estate assets, corporate governance and other corporate business and may conduct selected negotiations; The Senior Counsel will be the primary attorney responsible for managing the preparation and execution of all documents for certain regions of business. This role may be located in Denver, Colorado or Irvine, California.

This Senior Counsel will notify the SVP, Chief Legal Officer & Secretary, of proposed documents that may create substantial obligations and liabilities as well as oversee compliance with applicable laws and contractual commitments; Supervises the work of outside counsel for the company and its subsidiaries; Performs selected in-house legal work; Acts as a sounding board and resources to Human Resources and other business units on corporate legal matters.
JD required. Admission to practice law in Colorado or California required. Compensation includes a generous salary ($265K-to-$280K), a bonus of up to 30% of first year comp and a longer-term bonus of 20% based upon metrics, tenure and is accompanied by a robust benefits package. This role analyzes transactions and situations from a legal perspective based on extensive experience and independent judgment and provides legal counsel to make recommendations to senior management regarding transactions and business.
