Industry leading manufacturer / distributor in Twinsburg is looking for a Purchasing and Inventory Assistant. This position will work closely with the Import Purchasing Manager and will handle administrative and support activities to keep the purchasing and inventory departments running efficiently. This person will assist in maintaining inventory and purchasing records. This role requires excellent attention to detail, and basic knowledge of Excel as well as the ability to maintain and update paper and computerized purchasing records. Most of this person’s duties will be administrative and will be a supportive role to the purchasing and inventory managers. The purchasing assistant may be responsible for buying supplies and materials directly from vendors in certain cases. The purchasing coordinator will be responsible for learning company purchasing policies and procedures and providing support to the Purchasing / Inventory departments for effective company operation. This position is entry level with room for growth and advancement.
JOB DUTIES :
Provide administrative and clerical support to the Purchasing Dept including data entry and filing
Assist with monitoring inventory levels to determine replenishing of inventory between warehouses
Assist in processing paperwork related to production, transfers and adjustments of inventory items
Assist with monthly closing, physical inventory and cycle counting
Purchase consumable supplies – pallets, shrink wrap, etc.
Communicate with vendors via phone and email
SKU level maintenance of items
Assist with container tracking for import purchases
Data input using Access for container receiving paperwork including placards and checklists
Quality Assurance functions
Other purchasing and inventory duties as required for optimal purchasing / inventory management
JOB REQUIREMENTS :
Associate Degree or working towards degree in business-related field
Basic Office 365 skills specifically Excel
Purchasing and inventory management experience helpful
Must be detail-oriented and possess good organizational skills
Excellent verbal, written, follow-up and time-management skills
Ability to show initiative and be proactive
Ability to overcome obstacles and develop working relationships with team members
