What are the responsibilities and job description for the Staff Auditor position at J Tenbrink & Associates?
We are hiring for a Staff Auditor for our St. Louis offices. Our Audit Practice services Credit Unions exclusively. As auditors of financial institutions, some travel is required - approximately 30-40 nights per year. All travel occurs on weekdays, by automobile, and within 3 hours of the St. Louis metro area.
Responsibilities
- Assist audits and agreed upon procedures for clients in the credit union industry
- Prepare and analyze financial statements and evaluate internal controls
- Act as client contact and communicate effectively with client personnel
- Communicate with Partner and/or Manager on work status and client issues that arise
- Monitor that tasks are assigned and completed on a timely basis
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently, but also work well with others
- Experience working with Microsoft Word and Excel
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
- Working toward or qualified to sit for CPA exam and obtain license
- Software Experience a plus - PPC and/or Thomson Rueters Advanced Flow
- Ability to adapt quickly to new technology platforms
- Experience in the financial institution industry
