Position Overview
Gateway Mapping, Inc. is a leading GIS Consulting company, dedicated to leveraging cutting-edge technology to deliver innovative solutions. We are seeking a skilled GIS Technician to join our team.
This position will involve a variety of GIS tasks including data management, the production of GIS maps, field work, and other work as assigned. Work performed will be for both internal and external clients. In addition to the technical skills listed below, this person must be dependable, self-motivated, personable, creative, ethical, innovative, and persistent in meeting client needs.
Key Responsibilities
Education: At least a bachelor's degree in Geographic Information Systems or equivalent.
Experience: 2-5 years in a GIS related field.

Key Responsibilities
- GIS data management, data collection, and map production.
- Work closely with project managers in the design and creation of GIS maps and applications.
- Provide GIS technical support to internal and external clients.
- Ensure compliance with Gateway Mapping policies and best practices.
- Maintain a high degree of technical knowledge.
- May involve travel to other offices and client locations.
Education: At least a bachelor's degree in Geographic Information Systems or equivalent.
Experience: 2-5 years in a GIS related field.
Software
Esri Suite, including:
- ArcGIS Pro
- ArcGIS Online
- ArcGIS Enterprise
- Produce maps and figures.
- Create, organize, and manage geographic data.
- Perform GPS data collection.
- Perform geoprocessing and geospatial analysis.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Skills with data automation/Model Builder
- Familiarity with open-source GIS
- Programming skills including:
- Python
- JavaScript
- HTML/CSS
