J.W. Jung Seed Company is a family owned and operated mail-order and retail Company that ships quality seeds, plants and gardening accessories to all 50 states. We have six garden centers in the state of Wisconsin with our corporate headquarters located in Randolph, WI.
We are currently seeking a Seasonal Grower/Production Assistant at our Stoughton, WI location. This position begins Mid-March and runs to July.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Use machinery to facilitate soil operations and prepare soil for planting.
- Plant seeds and transplant plugs in pots and trays to sell them in retail stores.
- Perform daily maintenance on plants, such as watering, weeding, and pruning.
- Assist in preparing and picking orders for delivery.
- Keeping work areas clean.
- General labor, often strenuous, as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Skills:
- Ability to work both with a team and independently.
- Ability and willingness to work weekends, as needed.
- Ability to work in all types of weather including extreme heat.
- Can consistently lift 50 or more lbs, often repeatedly.
- Can stand, squat, sit, bend, and reach for extended periods of time.
- Prior plant or growing experience preferred.
