What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accounting Generalist - Gaming Industry - Full Time position at J W Marriott?
MAJOR JOB DUTIES: Duties include, but are not limited, to the following:
- Assist A/R in customer billing and payment processing.
- Assist A/R in proper recording and application of payments, outstanding invoices, and direct interfacing with customers on collection matters and dispute resolution.
- Assist A/R in providing timely and accurate payment and account standing information
- Answer telephone inquiries and respond to customer inquiries, disputes.
- Maintain proper documentation to pay invoices in a timely manner.
- Able to complete A/P check runs timely.
- Maintaining updated physical vendor files, processing distribution to the general ledger as required, prepare all invoices for payment, and process checks according to company procedures.
- Prepare invoices for payment.
- Maintain physical vendor files and update the computer accordingly.
- Prepare various reports related to A/P, A/R, and G/L
- Maintain neat and accurate files
- Assist various departments by providing information, explaining procedures and answering questions.
- Other duties as assigned.
SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:
- 1 year post high school education in Finance or equivalent job experience
- Accounting and/or financial background preferred.
- Understanding of general business practices including GAAP preferred.
- Good verbal and written English communication skills.
- Knowledge of common business computer applications
- Able to communicate effectively with other departments and management.
