Description
We are seeking an SMT Process Engineer for our Surface Mount facility in Germantown, WI.
Duties:
Candidate will lead and participate in actions to maintain or improve operational effectiveness goals; evaluate, implement, and monitor processes and operating systems for the manufacture of printed circuit boards
Act as senior technical resource and promptly respond to line-machine requests from A-Techs providing solutions or engaging external resources
Develop and document standards to implement new products into repeatable daily execution; insure understanding of standards by Associates
Lead and participate in opportunities to improve and provide training, tools, spare parts, and documentation
Develop and maintain in-process quality control systems for product quality
Monitor and improve labor costs through waste reduction, production efficiency, and operations improvement
Design and develop optimum production processes (i.e., solder paste selection, stencil designs, feeder setup methodology, selective soldering techniques)
Optimize machine setup and programming sequences for efficiency
Plan and develop processes and capacity utilization strategy for SMT assembly operation (i.e., kitting, solder paste printing, component placement, functional test, and automated optical inspection)
Ensure production equipment is capable and has capacity for growth; involve integrating equipment, people, material flow systems, and information systems
Support NPD projects through all phases of project’s cycle
Experience Needed:
Bachelor of Science in Engineering
2 years experience in engineering in an SMT environment,
Experience in lean manufacturing and process improvement
