DESCRIPTION
J12 Solutions is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Entry-Level Accountant to assist in managing financial transactions and government contract accounting. This role is ideal for a recent accounting graduate who is eager to gain experience in government contracting and financial management.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in preparing financial statements, reports, and invoices for government contracts.
- Assist with accounts payable and receivable processes, including tracking payments and reconciling accounts.
- Assist with the payroll process and related reporting.
- Help maintain accurate financial records and general ledger entries.
- Ensure compliance with Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA) regulations and other federal contracting requirements.
- Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and cost analysis for projects.
- Perform other accounting-related tasks as needed to support the finance department.
- Assist program managers with budget development and financial planning.
- Assist with human resources, contract administration, and other tasks as needed.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
- Must be a U.S. citizen and eligible for a security clearance.
- Must be located in the Huntsville, AL area or willing to relocate.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Basic understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software. Experience with Unanet, Deltek Costpoint, QuickBooks, or similar accounting packages is a plus.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Interest in learning about government contract accounting and compliance.
- Minimum GPA of 3.5 (on a 4.0 scale) preferred.
