Summary: The Executive Director serves as the primary visionary leader responsible for the overall strategic direction and leadership of the organization. This role includes oversight of daily operations, financial management, fundraising efforts, board relations, program development, and external stakeholder engagement. The Executive Director reports directly to the Board of Directors and collaborates with the Board and staff to ensure the mission and objectives of the organization are achieved and consistently upheld.


Primary Responsibilities

  1. Leadership and Vision:
  • Set and implement the overall strategic vision and direction for the organization
  • Serves as the key spokesperson and public face of the organization
  • Ensures that the organization's mission and values are carried out across all operations
  • Drive innovation and sustainable growth through strategic initiatives


  1. Board Relations:
  • Collaborates closely with the board to identify and develop long-term strategic plans for the actualization of ministerial objectives and the execution of the mission statement
  • Reports to the board on organizational performance, progress, and key operational needs
  • Assists with board member recruitment, training, and development
  • Provide comprehensive updates and necessary information for informed decision-making during board meetings


  1. Fundraising and External Relations:
  • Develop, implement, and oversee fundraising strategies to generate necessary revenue.
  • Build and maintain relationships with foundations, corporations, donors, churches, community leaders, partners and other stakeholders.
  • Maintain donor database and oversee stewardship of donors
  • Lead grant-writing efforts and identify new funding opportunities
  • Enhance the organization’s visibility through community engagement and partnerships


  1. Financial Oversight:
  • Responsible for overall financial health and sustainability of the organization
  • Develop and manage the annual budget in collaboration with the Operations Director
  • Oversee budgeting, financial reporting, and audits
  • Ensures compliance with relevant laws and regulations
  • Ensure ethical, fiscal compliance, and transparency in budget management and donor contributions
  • Maintain a sound financial plan to support the organization’s sustainability


  1. Organizational Culture and Team Development:
  • Identify, recruit, train and develop a talented team of employees who can lead and manage strategic functions
  • Establish and fosters a collaborative, mission-driven culture in line with the organization’s Christian values
  • Provides mentorship and professional development opportunities to staff and key team members
  • Work closely with the Operations Director for staff onboarding and training


  1. Program Oversight:
  • Provides oversight of program development and implementation to ensure alignment with the organization’s mission and goals
  • Monitor and evaluate program effectiveness and impact
  • Oversee day-to-day operations and implementation of strategic goals
  • Monitors day-to-day operations to ensure employees are faithfully executing the responsibilities of their positions and business practices comply with regulatory and legal requirements
