The successful Electrical Estimator will be responsible for all financial reporting on a project as well as tracking and projecting of all labor, material, job expenses, and changes. This individual will be responsible for all phases of the assigned estimate. This position oversees the request for bid and submittals, from bid document review including but not limited to schedules and specifications. This position requires day-to-day management of all facets of the estimate. This position requires the successful candidate to possess strong organizational, negotiation, financial, and communication skills. Must be able to work independently and as a team. This electrical estimator recognize growth and improvement areas and is a solutions provider with the ability to implement new policy and procedures when needed.
Responsibilities:
- Review and interpret project plans, requirements, and specifications
- Estimate material, labor, and equipment costs for construction projects.
- Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for bidding purposes.
- Conduct site visits to gather information for estimating purposes.
- Negotiate with subcontractors and suppliers for competitive pricing.
- Present estimates to management and clients.
- Responsible for financial reporting, tracking and projection of all labor, material, job expenses, and changes for each project assigned.
- Create and maintain a complete project budget using construction drawings.
- Monthly financial projections for each project assigned.
- Create a project specific schedule of values that will maintain positive cash flow.
- Monthly progress billing for each project assigned.
- Create, submit, and manage all submittals throughout the entire project.
- Maintain all submittal, drawing, correspondence, and change logs.
- Submit, review for added cost, file, and log all RFIs.
- Price, budget, track, sell, and collect all proposed changes.
- Prepare, organize, and manage material buyouts.
- Schedule and track all material releases. Coordinate with a Project Manager and Superintendent as needed.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as an Electrical Estimator in the construction industry.
- Knowledge of financial software, accounting practices, change order pricing, and billings.
- Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work.
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong budget tracking, labor tracking, and scheduling skills.
- Proficiency in information analyzation and budget setup.
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, materials, and methods.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
- Excellent analytical and mathematical skills.
- Strong communication and negotiation abilities.
- Familiarity with NEC codes and regulations.
Qualifications:
- 4 years of on-site supervision of general construction services.
- Possess a valid driver's license.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States.
- High School Diploma or GED
- Maintain all licensing and training requirements
- Strong knowledge and application of National Electric Code (NEC)
- OSHA 30, CPR and First Aid trained
- Construction Quality Control
- Familiarity with electrical and mechanical schematics, blueprints, and manuals
- Familiarity with electrical and mechanical equipment and hand tools
- Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
