KEY RESPONSIBILITIES As a Survey Party Chief, you will work alongside project surveyors to perform a variety of field tasks associated with land surveying. You’ll implement the project directives under the guidance of the Licensed Surveyor and will focus on dispersing project initiatives to field crew members. Key responsibilities include:
- Coordinate with the Licensed Surveyor/Survey Manager to meet survey deadlines and goals.
- Oversee multiple projects, ensuring schedule, progress, and deliverables stay on track.
- Manage and direct field crew activities, ensuring accurate data collection and field notes.
- Ensure compliance with J2 safety protocols and local regulations on all sites.
- Conduct safety meetings, address hazards, and maintain detailed documentation.
- Stay proficient in the current software used at J2.
- Minimum high school diploma (or equivalent).
- Minimum 5 years of responsible experience in land survey projects.
- Prior Party Chief experience is a plus.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD and Civil3D is a plus.
- Thorough knowledge of construction stakeout procedures and practices.
- Familiar with field procedures for performing boundary and ALTA/NSPS land title surveys.
- Ability to perform all aspects of data collected from field topographic surveys and as-built surveys.
- Thorough knowledge of total station, GPS, and data collection, with the ability to adapt to new equipment and technologies.
- Ability to work outside in all seasons, travel, and work out of town.
- Must hold a valid state driver’s license and maintain a clean, valid driver’s license to operate company vehicle.
