In this Controller role, you will be responsible for implementing and overseeing internal controls, managing financial reporting, and the month-end close process. You will also assist leadership with budgeting, process improvements, and financial analysis. The role involves managing and leading a team of accountants, both internal and outsourced. What You'll Actually Do:
- Oversee month-end close, ensuring accuracy and efficiency while streamlining processes and collaborating to resolve challenges
- Oversee AR/AP processes, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance while guiding staff and outsourced accountants and refining workflows for improved operations and reporting
- Serve as the primary point of contact for key customer accounts and vendors, ensuring positive and productive relationships
- Develop financial reporting systems and controls to ensure compliance with company policies
- Prepare various reports and financial analyses as needed to support business decisions and stakeholder requirements
To Be Successful in This Role, You Will Need:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- CPA Required
- 5-8 years of full-cycle accounting experience
- Experience leading the month-end close process
- Demonstrated ability to manage and oversee direct reports
- Strong organization and deadline-driven
- Knowledge of GAAP
- Proven experience of process creation and implementation
- Experience working with start-ups or smaller growing organizations a plus
- 1-2 years of public audit preferred
- SaaS experience a plus
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive approach
