Company Description
J3 Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that partners with high need schools in Compton, CA to provide after-school reading programs for students of color. Our mission is to equip 4th grade scholars with the skills, habits, confidence, and books they need to succeed in reading for a lifetime.
This is a part-time on-site role for a Reading Coach at J3 Foundation. The Reading Coach will be responsible for providing coaching and support to elementary school students in reading. The day-to-day tasks include implementing differentiated instruction strategies, assessing student progress, creating engaging lesson plans, and fostering a love of reading in students.
- Coaching and education experience
- Experience in literacy and elementary education
- Knowledge of differentiated instruction strategies
- Excellent communication skills
- Patient and empathetic approach
- Passion for promoting reading and literacy
- Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and staff
- Bachelor's degree in Education or related field is preferred
