Position Overview
We are seeking a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join our team. This role is essential in supporting healthcare providers, optimizing patient care, and ensuring smooth clinic operations. The ideal candidate is compassionate, detail-oriented, and experienced in both clinical and administrative tasks.
- Job Type: Part-time or Full-time
- Salary: Competitive, based on experience
- Certification Required: Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, CCMA, or NCMA)
- Travel: Must have reliable transportation to work at multiple office locations as needed
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Duties:
- Prepare patients for examinations, take vital signs, and record medical history
- Assist providers with medical procedures and treatments
- Administer injections, collect lab specimens, and perform basic diagnostic tests
- Maintain exam rooms, sterilize equipment, and ensure infection control standards are met
- Educate patients on treatment plans, medications, and aftercare instructions
Administrative Duties:
- Schedule patient appointments and manage patient flow
- Verify insurance coverage and assist with billing processes
- Maintain accurate and confidential patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Assist with prior authorizations, referrals, and medical documentation
- Support licensing and credentialing requirements for providers
Qualifications & Skills
Required:
- Medical Assistant Certification (CMA, RMA, CCMA, or NCMA) is required
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience in a clinical setting
- Strong knowledge of HIPAA compliance and medical office procedures
- Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) systems
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent communication and patient service skills
Preferred:
- Experience in a functional, metabolic, or integrative medicine practice
- Phlebotomy experience
- Bilingual (Spanish-speaking a plus)
