How will you make an impact? –
As the Quality Technician you will assist the Quality Engineering function, providing technical support in issues affecting manufacturing, supporting, and driving corrective action efforts and continuous improvements.
What will you do? –
- Operate precision quality control equipment (e.g., calipers, micrometers, CMMs, comparators, multimeters) to assess part quality & perform/document cosmetic, functional, and dimensional inspections as per the product quality plan.
- Evaluate product and process acceptability based on sampling results.
- Authorize the acceptance of conforming materials, rejection of non-conforming lots, and proper segregation and documentation of non-conforming materials.
- Conduct startup inspections and audits following Jabil documented procedures (LPA & FAI).
- Notify shift supervisors of non-conforming conditions for corrective action (QRQC), segregate/purge non-conforming products to prevent errors and maintain product quality, securing all materials are placed in the MRB area
- Communicate effectively with the next shift's quality technician about machine, product and quality issues.
- Adhere to all company policies, including safety, housekeeping (6S), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
- Maintain accurate documentation of inspections/process to provide verbal and written reports to supervisors regarding defects/issues found in products/mfg. line
Education:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Minimum of 2-years' experience working in a Quality related role is required
- Computer literate with intermediate to Advanced MS Office skills
- Experience in a manufacturing, leading process improvements / lean manufacturing activities.
- Highly motivated and enthusiastic individual with strong communication and interpersonal skills and ability to work with cross functional teams.
- Strong planning & organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proven ability to meet deadlines, with A “can do” work ethic with excellent problem-solving skills.
- Capable of working with minimal supervision and maintaining concentration on tasks.
- Adaptable to changes in priorities keeping positive attitude.
- Basic statistical knowledge and mid-advance personal computer skills.
- Able to read/interpretate DWG/SPEC/Schematics
- Preferred Qualifications:
- BS/BA degree in Manufacturing Technology / Mechanical / Electronic / Mechatronics / Industrial Engineering
- Diploma in Quality or a related discipline
