Supervises: Assistant Coaches, Student Managers and Athletes
Salary: $3,200 Paid First Pay of November 2025

Season: Begins in fall of 2025

OBJECTIVES
- To promote the importance of excellence in the classroom and on the athletic fields.
- To develop appropriate behavior at school, at home, and in the community.
- To develop respect for team members, opponents, coaches, officials, families, and community.
- To guide each athlete to achieve his/her potential.
- To develop an athlete’s ability to work as part of a team.
- To teach and develop fundamental skills in the sport in which the athlete chooses to participate.
- To develop each athlete’s knowledge of the sport and teach the rules of the game.
- To provide opportunity to learn life-long health habits.
- To teach proper care of equipment, school property, and the property of others.
- To develop self-discipline.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Attend annual coaches meeting to start school
- CPR training
- Complete 5 online courses through NFHS
- Complete SPV training
- To be involved with and influence the junior varsity and middle school programs.
- Should have direct involvement with the development of the youth programs in the Jac-Cen-Del area. Encourage to have camps and league opportunities available for interested youth.
- Is in charge of assigning all duties of assistant coaches working under his/he supervision
- Is responsible for the general upkeep and protection of equipment under the jurisdiction of the program.
- Reports while the sport is in season to the Athletic Director with regard to developments in the program
- Is directly responsible for a complete inventory of the equipment used for the sport, to be made at the be end of each season.
- Is responsible for keeping the Max preps website up to date and utilizing its features.
- Is responsible for recommending purchase of equipment, supplies and uniforms as need demands.
- Plans and schedules a regular program of practice. A copy of the practice schedule should be provided to the Athletic Director/uploaded to the Eagle Athletics classroom.
- Oversees the safety conditions of the facility or area in which assigned sport is conducted at all times that athletes are present
- Promotes assigned sport by prompt and accurate score reporting to the media using VNN.
- Cooperates with all other coaches in providing the optimum total athletic program possible under the existing conditions.
- The coach will make the proper contacts to find the deadline dates for nominating:
- Academic All-State and All-State players. It is the coaches’ responsibility to complete all
- Academic All-State, All-State, and All-Conference nominations before the deadline.
- The coach is also responsible to make sure athletes are nominated for any local and central Indiana honors before the deadline.
Failure to do so could result in termination of his/her coaching position.
- Turn in the following to the Athletic Director or Athletic Secretary
- A roster with uniform and all necessary data ASAP.
- An end of season list of award winners.
- Provide season-ending statistics, scores, and records and inventories.
- A list of student athletes with outstanding equipment and uniforms.
- Physicals must be completed and turned in before an athlete is allowed to practice. Physicals should be in the hands of the athletic director or athletic secretary within 24 hours of the coach receiving it.
- Complete a season ending evaluation.
- Keeps abreast of new developments, innovative ideas and techniques by attendance at clinics, workshops and reading in his/her field.
- Performs other duties as related to his/her assignments as designated by the Building Principal and or the Athletic Director.
- Attends staff meetings as scheduled; completes the Indiana High School Athletic Association mandatory rule meetings through the My IHSAA portal & completes all required NFHS Courses
- Supervises locker room before and after practice. Is responsible for players cleanliness and behavior.
- Maintains and encourages an in and off-season conditioning program.
- All doors are locked, lights off, and athletes have left before leaving.
- Provide season-ending statistics, scores, and records.
- It is the responsibility of the coach to update the athletic department whenever athletes leave the team or new team members are added to the team.
- Knowledge of Athletic Handbook and enforce its rules.
- Conducts themselves in a positive and appropriate manner in representing the school.
- Work concessions stands as assigned.
