Major Japanese beverage corporation is seeking a Purchasing Assistant to join their team. The individual will be responsible for tracking material and/or product orders to ensure timely delivery, evaluating supplier performance, maintaining sufficient inventory levels on assigned materials, researching materials for assigned projects, assisting with production planning.

Major Japanese beverage corporation is seeking a Purchasing Assistant to join their team. The individual will be responsible for tracking material and/or product orders to ensure timely delivery, evaluating supplier performance, maintaining sufficient inventory levels on assigned materials, researching materials for assigned projects, assisting with production planning.
Job Responsibilities
- Obtain quotes from forwarders.
- Follow up on air shipments with forwarders, and alert appropriate teams on status until delivered.
- Receives invoice to confirm fees for accuracy.
- Creates proper documentation for shipments to Canada, Australia and other countries.
- Obtains items, prices, and freight costs of incoming shipment to verify information against bill of lading, invoices, orders, or other records and submits invoice.
- Maintain sufficient inventory of labels and packaging materials in Japan,.
- Assist with researching materials (materials, ingredients, flavors) needed; requests samples and follows up as needed.
- Maintains supplier and pricing lists on the server.
- Other projects and duties as assigned
- Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four-year College or university, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum 1 year in office support environment, preferably in purchasing department.
- Experience in food and/or beverage ingredient, value added ingredient, or nutraceutical ingredient a plus.
- Bilingual (read, write, speak) Japanese/English
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Great communication skills.
