Position Summary: The Chemical Support role involves assisting with the receipt, blending, packaging, and shipment of chemicals, as well as related tasks. Key responsibilities include ensuring blend tanks and equipment are used according to standard operating procedures and employee training.
Essential Functions:
•Ensure blend tanks and equipment are being used to blend finished products per standard operating procedures and employee training.
•Ensure packaging finished products and transferring products between different packaging is being done safely and properly.
•Accurately record amount of products used and created.
•Wear proper PPE at all times in accordance with policies.
•Become proficient with required Safety and Hazmat policies, procedures, and reporting.
•Maintain, inspect, and clean equipment and facilities as required.
•Sample, test, and log results of materials and products, as required, to ensure quality control of product.
•Ensure chemical is blended per manufacturing specifications. No substitutions or modifications without supervisor's authorization.
•Ensure proper use of pumps and agitators, valves, or controls of processing equipment to admit, transfer, filter, or mix chemicals.
Qualifications:
•High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)
•Basic knowledge of various pumps and valves preferred
•Must possess a valid driver's license
Skills & Abilities:
•Computer Skills: Have basic computer skills. Efficiently navigate a web browser, follow online instructions, type and use a mouse. Background in MS office applications preferred.
•Work Ethic: Be dependable, trustworthy, truthful, and credible in the workplace. Display a sincere desire to provide service or assistance, follow instructions, and take responsibility for own actions. Show a commitment to doing the best job possible.
Physical Abilities: Lift and carry 100 pounds in various packaging. Tip and move 55 gallon drums, weighing up to 600 pounds, with the use of a drum dolly.
Work Environment: This role takes place in a chemical manufacturing environment inside and outside of metal buildings. Employees will work in temperature extremes and in a chemical odors environment.
