Jack Giambalvo Motor Company is now seeking an Automotive Title Specialist to join our Team at our newest location--Giambalvo Kia Mitsubishi!
The Automotive Title Specialist for Vehicle Sales processes car deals. S/he verifies costs, including the costs of reconditioning and equipment add-ons, for the accounting department and prepares legal transfer documents for the DMV.
Essential duties and responsibilities of an Automotive Title Specialist:
- Prepares tax and title documents.
- Processes all new and used vehicles for registration in the state in which they will be titled.
- Submits all legal transfer work to the DMV.
- Verifies that funds have been collected and the correct lienholder paid off before processing title applications.
- Submits lien payoffs to Accounts Payable Administrator for processing.
- Compiles and maintains a list of all outstanding title work.
- Reports to management on the status of any missing or problem titles and provides a current list of outstanding titles to supervisor at the end of the month.
- Signs over titles for all wholesalers who have paid in full.
- Prepares a monthly report to management of any funds not collected from wholesalers due to missing or incomplete title work.
- Processes/registers all vehicle warranties and extended service contracts, maintaining a log of all contracts process and mailed.
- Stays abreast of title regulations. Attends seminars held by local licensing bureaus and any available training on title regulations.
- Post vehicle sales into the Dealer Management System (DMS)Report new-car sales to the manufacturer(s).
- Maintain site copy of state paperwork.
- Convert out of state titles for used vehicles purchased.
- Follow up with banks on any missing titles. Prepare and send out information required by banks for contract funding
Automotive Title Specialist Qualifications:
Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information. One year of general office experience. Automotive accounting or previous title work preferred. Basic computer/office skills such as typing, filing, sorting mail and proofreading. Pay will be based on experience.
