The Cyber Security Principal Architect ensures Jack Henry’s cybersecurity strategy and architecture align with business objectives and effectively mitigates potential risks across the Enterprise. This role leverages their expertise to develop and maintain the enterprise-wide security technology architecture approach and associated roadmap(s) in alignment with the organization's business strategy. The Cyber Security Principal Architect identifies technology trends and innovations to support future growth and competitive advantage. This position designs, documents, and maintains the enterprise architecture framework, encompassing applications, data, infrastructure, and security and establishes governance processes and standards to guide technology decisions and ensure compliance across various lines of business.
This position can be worked Remotely in the United States. Working hours are flexibly 7am-4pm CST.
What you will be responsible for:
- Strategic Planning:
- Aligns organizational goals and objectives with architectural principles and practices.
- Develops and maintains a comprehensive cybersecurity architecture aligned with the organization's business objectives (Assessment of Current Architecture, Develop a Target Architecture, Roadmap and Prioritization).
- Identifies and assesses potential cybersecurity risks and develops mitigation strategies.
- Portfolio Management:
- Scope includes the entire cybersecurity portfolio, ensuring that projects align with the overall strategy and deliver value to the organization (Tool Selection, Architecture Design, Data Governance, Security and Compliance)
- Prioritizes and allocates resources effectively to meet security objectives.
- Architecture Design:
- Designs and maintains the cybersecurity architecture, considering the organization's technology stack and future requirements.
- Defines Living Target Architecture (LTA) that refers to an evolving and dynamic version of the target architecture for an organization, and Reference Architecture that is a standardized blueprint or template that provides guidelines, best practices, and recommendations for designing and building systems within Cybersecurity Domain.
- Ensures that the architecture meets industry best practices and compliance standards.
- Collaboration
- Ensures alignment to Enterprise Architecture principles and roadmaps.
- Collaborates with cross-functional teams, including Information Technology, Risk Management, Legal, and Compliance, to integrate cybersecurity measures seamlessly into business processes, and ensure solutions meet the diverse needs of the organization.
- Technology Evaluation
- Works with external partners and vendors to evaluate and integrate third-party security solutions.
- Stays abreast of emerging cybersecurity technologies and trends.
- Guides the technical direction of cybersecurity initiatives, and evaluates and recommends new technologies (holistic vs each domain – across the spectrum of ICS and work in partnership with ICS Operational Towers) that enhance the organization’s cybersecurity posture.
- Risk Management:
- Conducts risk assessments and define risk management strategies.
- Ensures Architectural alignment with incident response plans to address cybersecurity incidents effectively.
- Performs mergers and acquisitions (M&A) due diligence.
- Compliance and Governance:
- Ensures compliance with relevant cybersecurity regulations and standards.
- Ensures organizational alignment and linkage to cybersecurity controls.
- Establishes and maintains governance frameworks for cybersecurity policies and procedures.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Creates and maintains documentation related to cybersecurity architecture, policies, and procedures. Prepares and provides regular reports and presentations to executive leadership on the status, strategy, and planning related to the cybersecurity portfolio. Acts as a mentor to less experienced peers to facilitate their growth.
- Provides technical guidance/expertise and thought leadership to other departments.
- Drives organizational change management (OCM) to align with the shifting needs of the organization and to work towards standardizing practices and outcomes in the pursuit of risk reduction.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
What you will need to have:
- 15 years’ experience in related field.
