Jack Links is seeking a Dock Attendant to add to our team at the distribution center in Underwood, IA. The Dock Attendant plays an essential role within the Jack Links Distribution Center.
This position is responsible for all dock activity / general warehouse functions within the ASRS warehouse including loading, unloading, receiving, shipping, put-away, dock transfers, pulling replenishments, and all other needed warehouse activities. This position will work very closely and require direct communication with the shag driver.
This position will also perform all duties safely and accurately while meeting productivity standards and goals. Other duties directed by leadership may be included such as participating in other areas of the business to ensure the overall effective function of the distribution center.

The responsibilities of this position shall consist of, but not be limited to, the following:
Receiving (unloading) inbound trailers following all safety procedures and ensure all product received meet the defined requirements.

ROLES And RESPONSIBILITIES
The responsibilities of this position shall consist of, but not be limited to, the following:
Receiving (unloading) inbound trailers following all safety procedures and ensure all product received meet the defined requirements.
- Examination of loads to confirm / ensure they are within compliance to be placed into the ASRS and there are no overages, shortages, or damages. Pallets with concerns will be moved to a holding area until the issues can be addressed.
- Follow check in process ensuring all information is appropriately recorded into the WMS.
- Adherence to the put-away process whether that is within the ASRS or a Dock Transfer to the conventional warehouse.
- Shipping (loading) full pallets onto a trailer directly from the ASRS or loading built pallets from the wrapper following all safety procedures and Jack Link’s SOP’s.
- Responsible for the neatness and cleanliness of assigned work areas and travel aisles, and the accuracy of warehouse locations.
- Report any unfixable/unsafe issues immediately to supervisor.
- Observe and enforce all safety rules to eliminate incidents and injuries.
- Operate appropriate MHE, such as forklifts and pallet jacks, in a safe and orderly manner to eliminate accidents and injuries.
- Observe proper lifting techniques and physical work practices in accordance with established SOPs.
- Ensure that MHE is maintained (perform daily inspection) and clean; report repair or service needs to supervisor to minimize equipment damage and down time.
- Use warehouse computers and equipment in a safe and professional manner to avoid damage to equipment.
- Understand and comply with all applicable Company policies.
- Supports food safety policies, standard operating procedures, and prerequisite food safety control programs that meet legal and quality requirements and industry best practices as defined in our Food Safety Plan
- Has proficient knowledge of the process to facilitate and assist with the optimal flow in and out of the DC.
- Self-reliant and able to accurately work under limited supervision.
- This is a 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shift dedicated position although flexibility to work all shifts, including weekends, is required when necessary.
- Be a collaborator. Work in a professional manner with all customers, DC team members, and all departments within the facility.
- Performs other warehouse duties as assigned.
Required Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- 1-3 years of experience in a distribution center with an emphasis on equipment operation, material handling, and shipping/receiving experience. Overall understanding of distribution center processes.
- Ability to read, write, comprehend, follow verbal and written instructions, and acquire basic mathematical skills.
- Above average communication skills, typically utilizing a radio.
- Experience working in a challenging environment with the ability to manage stressful situations while maintaining company guidelines.
- Experience with material handling equipment.
- Organizational skills
