What are the responsibilities and job description for the Janitorial District Supervisor (Multiple Buildings) position at Jack's Maintenance Service?
As a District Supervisor, we will depend on you for a variety of job duties. You will be responsible for leading your team to ensure customer satisfaction as well as performing custodial operations. (core job responsibilities including but not limited to):
Essential job functions:
- Work closely with Senior Account Manager to manage staff and work quality in assigned group of buildings
- Identify and correct cleaning quality issues within buildings
- Oversee work quality processes, inspections, staff performance, payroll management
- Assist with performance reviews, development plans and employee retention efforts
- Be a positive force for colleagues and employees in actions and words
Compensation:
- $55k - $60k plus incentives

Education/Experience:
- High School diploma/GED; Secondary education preferred
- Prior facilities or custodial experience or industry knowledge preferred
- Prior experience in accountability for performance metrics
- Experience or ability in training/developing others
Successful Candidate Is Likely:
- Highly organized and able to meet deadlines
- Comfortable with multi-tasking
- Time sensitive when handling customer inquiries and issues
- At least a basic user with MS Office and other basic software and office systems
Work Environment:
- Even though our industry experiences high turnover, the turnover in our management and professional positions is less than 5%. Sometimes people leave us do to relocation or retirement. Our corporate team has an average tenure of 13 years.
- You'll oversee staff and ensure service levels for a dedicated number of buildings or sites.
Your Team:
- You'll interact with all levels of internal staff and occasionally our customer's personnel who act as our contact at each building.
- You'll lead a team of custodians, building leads, and help direct a "special projects" crew.
Your Day:
- Responsible for day-to-day operation and administrative activities to ensure we're meeting contract requirements (e.g. shift coverage, staff assignments, duty list completion, inspections, supply management, project planning, meeting participation)
- Respond to questions or service issues from our internal management and customer personnel
- Partner with HR, supervisors, and managers on personnel issues
- Engage with employees to foster positive working relationships
- Direct, coordinate, lead and evaluate all assigned personnel
Your Background and Personality:
- You've spent some time in a facilities role such as team leader, building supervisor, project manager, or similar where you had to think on your feet, maintain control, adapt, and lead/teach others to do the same. You're able to work in environments where there may be frequent interruptions or distractions.
- We believe in "putting the right people in the right place." We value creativity and new ideas, but we also need a person who gets the job done with out constant supervision or direction. It's a bonus if you're "thick-skinned, but not thick-headed."
Your Skills, Education and Experience:
- You've got a combination of education and/or experience that translates into at least one year in a multi-responsibility supervisory or leadership role, experience leading a team, and are able to function in a deadline-driven environment with sense of urgency.
- You're familiar with cleaning-related chemicals, materials, equipment and procedures.
