As our Account Manager, you will oversee and grow key client accounts including Walmart to ensure customer satisfaction and foster long-term partnerships. This role involves managing customer relationships, negotiating pricing, and coordinating with internal teammates to meet client needs while fostering and maintaining our exceptional relationships with our partner growers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and grow key accounts including Walmart and other major supermarket chains. Act as the primary point of contact in order to understand their needs and ensure satisfaction.
- Bid and negotiate seasonal contracts with category managers.
- Provide weekly supply and weather updates to clients.
- Plan and forecast holiday planting schedules to meet client demands.
- Add specific customers to liability insurance as needed.
- Hire trucks daily and coordinate freight loads to optimize for efficiency.
- Send daily Advanced Ship Notifications and Blockchain Data to clients as needed.
- Ensure accurate and timely submission of annual sustainability reports.
- Monitor current market trends and adapt strategies accordingly.
- Run detailed reports to support data-driven decision-making.
- Complete annual sustainability reports to highlight sustainability progress and ensure annual food safety and social compliance audits are completed.
- Purchase additional products to fulfill contracted business when internal supply is insufficient.
- Negotiate IFCO contracts and manage RPC (Reusable Plastic Container) forecasting.
- Order branded packaging materials such as green bean bags, lettuce bags, and tray pack film.
- Communicate daily packouts to harvest and packing crews.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and forecasts.
- XBuild and maintain relationships with vendors, including seed providers, box manufacturers, and transportation companies.
- XAnswer incoming calls and address customer inquiries.
- Stay informed about industry trends to better serve customers and improve operations.
Qualifications:
- 3-5 years in sales or account management, preferably in the produce or food distribution industry.
- BS degree in business, agriculture, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience
- Familiarity with marketing orders, trade agreements, PACA regulations, and produce grades/standards is preferred.
- Strong understanding of fresh produce distribution and market dynamics.
- Outstanding customer service skills and shares in the company mission of “growers working for growers” as a key component of our success.
- Strong customer service, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Positive, self-starter attitude with a high level of personal ownership and a team player mentality.
- Results-driven with excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks concurrently with a sense of urgency.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail, well organized, with an absolute focus on quality of work.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and related tools.

- Experience with Famous Software.
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) skills are a plus
