Salary Range: $55,000 - $65,000 per year (based on experience and qualifications)
Position Overview:
Jacko Logistics is seeking a highly motivated Service Advisor with experience in trucking, diesel, or trailer maintenance to join our team. This role is ideal for a proactive problem solver with strong mechanical knowledge who thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. The primary responsibility of the Service Advisor is to ensure timely and effective resolution of vehicle breakdowns and repairs while maintaining clear and professional communication with drivers, dispatch, and vendors.
Key Responsibilities:
Communication & Problem-Solving:
- Answer incoming service calls with a positive and solutions-oriented attitude.
- Ensure all updates and status changes for repairs are communicated to dispatch, drivers, and management.
- Maintain a customer service approach, making drivers feel supported and valued, even in stressful situations.
- Exhibit strong problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate effectively with drivers and team members, ensuring issues are resolved efficiently and professionally.
- Communicate with customers regarding progress and cost of billable repairs.
Breakdowns & Repairs:
- Take inbound calls and review fault codes and driver inspection reports for issues.
- Schedule, manage, and approve repairs with preferred vendors, ensuring repairs are completed successfully and in a timely manner.
- Work closely with vendors, technicians, and internal teams to efficiently resolve breakdowns and service issues.
- Coordinate with outside companies, such as repair vendors and breakdown services, to ensure quality standards are maintained at the lowest cost.
- Responsible for the quality of all repairs of equipment assigned to the shop through the effective scheduling of personnel and parts availability.
Project Management & Compliance:
- Manage two short- or long-term projects as assigned by leadership.
- Balance daily responsibilities with project deadlines while improving processes and reducing downtime.
- Work with leadership to develop project management skills and enhance overall service efficiency.
- Assist Dispatch and Safety Departments with advancing new procedures and policies.
- Enforce safety rules and maintain a safe work environment.
- Attend quality and other required meetings.
- Perform special projects and other duties as assigned.
- Manage the schedule of equipment for preventive maintenance in accordance with PM procedures.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Experience in the following areas highly preferred: trucking, diesel, or trailer maintenance.
- Mechanical knowledge with experience in the transportation, trucking, or automotive industry is preferred.
- Strong problem-solving ability to find cost-effective and efficient repair solutions.
- Excellent communication skills to interface effectively with drivers, dispatch, and vendors.
- Ability to handle multiple calls, repairs, and updates while maintaining attention to detail.
- Availability for on-call support and ability to work flexible hours as needed.
- Detail-oriented and process-driven with the ability to follow procedures and maintain accurate records.
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma (or GED) required; Associate degree or higher preferred.
- Experience in the following areas strongly preferred: truck service, shop technician, or other related business activities.
