Candidates must meet "medium" strength level standards per U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) Federal Standards, which requires an employee to be able to carry up to 50 pounds.
Candidates for this position are required to operate power tools, computers, hydraulic other equipment.
Entry level experience required:
- Must have a valid driver’s license
- Be reliable and responsible.
- Work outdoors in all weather conditions
- High personal space and safety awareness
- Accurately identify color and number coding of duct and fiber
Minimum performance expectations:
- Ability to work independently and with others
- Open to travel extensively, including overnight
- Utilize construction equipment (excavator, hydraulic reel trailer, forklift, fiber blowing equipment)
- Maintain satisfactory quality performance levels
- Provide daily job status reports
- Operate hand and power tools
Safety Compliance:
- Adhere to all safety regulations and protocols, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Follow OSHA safety guidelines and company-specific safety procedures
Typical Duties:
- Load tools and supplies into truck up to 50 pounds
- Ensure the integrity of fiber optic cable during the installation process
- Properly connect duct sections with clamps
- Install fiber optic cables in underground conduits
- Locate damaged conduit
- Dig and expose conduit for repairs
- Collect and enter data into a database
- Drive and work safely with a truck
Job Type: Full-time
Expected hours: 40 per week
Compensation Package:
- Hourly pay
- Overtime pay
- Per Diem while on travel status (GSA Rates)
Schedule:
- Varies: 8 hours, but generally increases while on travel status, usually 5 day work week project dependent
- Weekends as needed
Experience:
- Telecommunication: 1 year (Preferred)
- Construction: 1 year (Preferred)
License/Certification:
- Driver's License (Required)
Willingness to travel:
- 80% (Required)
