As a Meat/Seafood Clerk, you will play a vital role in our grocery store by ensuring that our meat and seafood products are fresh, well-presented, and meet the highest quality standards. You will be responsible for assisting customers with their selections, providing exceptional customer service, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment. Responsibilities
- Provide outstanding customer service by greeting customers and assisting them with their meat and seafood selections.
- Ensure all products are fresh, properly labeled, and displayed attractively in the case.
- Perform food handling tasks in compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Prepare and package meat and seafood products according to store standards.
- Utilize knife skills for cutting, trimming, and portioning various types of meats and seafood.
- Maintain cleanliness of the work area, including equipment and tools used in food preparation.
- Monitor inventory levels of meat and seafood products, ensuring timely restocking as needed.
- Assist in training new staff on proper food handling techniques and customer service practices.
Experience
- Previous experience in the food industry or culinary field is preferred but not required.
- Familiarity with food production processes, including meat cutting techniques is advantageous.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with customers.
