Forensic Inpatient Adult Psychiatrist Locums Job in New York
The primary goal of this position is to provide high-quality psychiatric services to adult patients in a secure forensic setting. The ideal candidate will have expertise in conducting thorough evaluations, developing effective treatment plans, and ensuring the safety and well-being of patients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform lethality assessments and suicide precautions as needed;
- Order laboratory tests or diagnostic assessments, including consultation with medical specialty providers;
- Provide first aid and medical triage, including initial physical examinations on new admissions;
- Administer restraint and seclusion procedures;
- Offer psychiatric services via Video Teleconference.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Board Certification in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry or Adult Psychiatry, or Board Eligibility within 3 years of completing an accredited training program in psychiatry;
- A valid license to practice medicine in New York State;
- A valid National Provider ID # (NPI);
- A valid DEA license;
- The ability to perform client care functions with minimal orientation and supervision.
